Dr. Kogan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Family Development and has been a Research Scientist at the Center for Family Research since 2004. He is currently a co-investigator on three R01-level research projects focused on risky behavior among rural African American adolescents for which he provides scientific leadership. He is a co-investigator on the recently funded NIDA P30 Center Grant which supports the Center for Contextual Genetics and Prevention Studies. In his role as Research Scientist, he has contributed to multiple grant proposals, worked with the activity teams to develop protocols to support data quality, contributed to intervention development and implementation, mentored junior scientists, directed data analyses, and authored many manuscripts for publications related to substance use and high risk sexual behavior among rural African Americans.
